I only report on what I was told by the transfer agent. Your mileage may vary. It's likely one of the people we spoke with don't know what they're talking about, which is something I find common in many organizations.

Personally, I don't really care which way it is. Quarterly updates are sufficient for me (as well as the SEC). I have no need for more frequent updates. I suppose those traders who tried to convince everyone they were long investors felt a need to know the daily float to support their schemes and to know when to bash and when to praise the company and management. Or perhaps they felt they needed to hold management's feet to the fire on a daily basis. LMAO
