I am going to add one more item....what a company really wants to do with a patent is to slow down the competition from trying to reverse engineer your idea. There are also different types of patents and the most common now are process patents which process an idea versus actually engineer a new widget
Problem with process patents is that they really hold the competition at bay...
In the end the purpsoe is not to get a patent but to file a patent and drag that puppy as long as you can. The better the patent attorney the more the delay and the more in front of your competition you are
Companies hate to get into a patent lawsuit as it costs mega bucks for lawyers. Look at the Apple/Samsung suit...that puppy has gone back and forth several times already
Let the idiots over at IHub scare the novices as they have nothing else to bitch about and if Rico is a winner watch the cockroaches scatter
