Here's some QD-related job openings I found on LinkedIn...the 1st is for LANL...
thought it might give some insight as to directions they're heading:
Nanotechnology Postdoc
Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) - Los Alamos, NM
Job description
Postdoctoral Position in Nanomaterial-based Device Structures: The Nanotechnology and Advanced Spectroscopy Team of the Chemistry Division (C) is seeking outstanding candidates to join our effort in electronic devices based on colloidal quantum dots and semiconductor/metal hybrid nanostructures. Device applications of particular interest to our Team include photovoltaics, light-emitting devices and lasers, radiation detectors and electron-emitting devices . The position will involve the development of novel approaches for fabricating functional thin films and thin-film devices based on solution-processible nanomaterials alone or in combination with other inorganic or organic electronic materials. In addition to device efficiency studies, this position will also involve fundamental studies of important phenomena, including: charge injection/extraction into/from the nanocrystals; conductivity and photoconductivity in nanocrystal assemblies; and the response of nanocrystal assemblies to high-energy radiation . This work will be supported by existing Team efforts in nanomaterial synthesis, optical spectroscopy, and micro- (nano-)structural characterization. Detailed information on Team’s research projects and capabilities is available at http://quantumdot.lanl.gov .

Here's another job involving quantum computers & QDots at IBM: https://www.linkedin.com/jobs2/view/12406914?...%3Aprimary
And here's another with Invisage involving QDots: https://www.linkedin.com/jobs2/view/28042883?...%3Aprimary
