N706BL Flew Over Upper Peninsula MI, Not Canada
FYI, in addition to the "Mitten" (Lower Peninsula), Michigan also contains the Upper Peninsula.
Our 747 did indeed take a funky route today, but according to Flight Aware map it never entered Canadian Air Space. When N706BL briefly left the "Mitten", that was the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, not Canada.
At it's most northern point today, N706BL was about 100 miles away from Canada. On the Flight Aware map, everything east of the "Mitten" is Canada. Oscoda, MI is perhaps 200 miles from Canada. Willow Run in Ypsilanti, MI is about 75 miles from Canada.
