You know, I think I forget to mention that in my discussion with Gerald 3 weeks ago in L.A. I asked him if MANF for TBI required that we must pass the blood brain barrier and use the Renishaw catheter. He said No, we do not have to use the catheter, only in the most extreme and rare cases. I think this is significant since passing the blood brain barrier adds complexity to getting this indication FDA approved. When I asked Gerald whether MANF/TBI could be an orphan....he didn't give me a definitive answer. Based on his response I kind of doubt it, but it didn't seem like a complete impossibility either. The reason I bring this up is because the GDNF blood brain results are due out soon. Gerald has said positive news for GDNF is positive news for MANF, since MANF data suggests it is superior to GDNF. However, if the GDNF news were bad due to the Renishaw catheter attempts to pass the blood brain barrier, that would spell trouble for MANF/Parkinsons. But it wouldn't effect our TBI, Diabetes, Retinitis, Ischemic Heart, Hearing, (I'm not sure about Stroke)
