My guess is youth. Gerald is a young CEO trying to make an impression and he probably feels the need to make everyone happy "in the moment". I don't believe he fully understands all delays and nuances involved, which in turn, lead to delays. I'm am very confident that all the milestones that Gerald expected to be accomplished by now will come to fruition in the near future. Gerald just needs to learn that dates are very fluid and he has a lot of eyes on him. God knows, I could never handle this much pressure.
