I agree money runners had a lot to do with it. But certainely not all of it. I recall GC releasing a PR a day or two before hand, stating that the complete data set wasn't going to be released, in an attempt to reel in those excessively high expectations.
Pennies may not matter to you, but they certainely do for me. I'm a very small fry investor. Being fresh out of college and paying for two degrees does not yield a lot of spare change for AMBS shares. That penny difference easily turns into thousands of dollars difference in the long haul. My total share count is a hair under 100k. I would kill to have even a quarter of the shares some of our fellow investors have.
I'm simply trying to get as many AMBS shares as possible. Don't get me confused with flippers just because I care about a couple pennies. When I am able to buy some shares, it's usually only about $1,000-$1,500 at a time. If you're buying .5M at this level, it ballparks at $42,000. I can see for you how pennies may not matter.
Not all penny pinchers are flippers.
