I'm certainly no lawyer, either, but I agree. The following is my opinion:
- Between now and 11/24, the plaintiff and defendant will work on a settlement.
- If a settlement is not reached by that date, the judge will enter a dismissal order.
- If the dismissal is entered with prejudice, the plaintiff may not re-file the lawsuit. If the dismissal is entered without prejudice, the plaintiff may re-file the lawsuit at a later time if so desired.
- Between now and 11/24, the plaintiff and defendant will work on a settlement.
