You're correct, gobears. Gerald never said he was going to stop completely, at least in his response to my email.
Although I haven't gone to the trouble of counting his tweets in the months before and after this statement, a casual observation seems to indicate he has sent fewer tweets since this statement.

The Company is getting to the point where institutions will become involved and this will create problems. A small, but important typo leads to confusion and we can ill afford it.
