POET, GF & Synopsys, the perfect trifecta! IMO
At this moment there's no public announcement of a deal between POET & GlobalFoundries (GF), but we have their ex CEO Ajit Manocha on board + he's still an advisor to GF, and then a couple of months later POET moves to an unnamed 3rd party foundry! Gee, who could it be?! I think its GF!
On the same day the move to a 3rd party foundry is announced PTI also announces a collaboration with Synopsys. Manocha is also the architect of the Foundry 2.0 model, so I think there's a link there, especially knowing that GF & Synopsys have been working together for years. Then a week after POET moved to a 3rd party foundry Synopsys announced the availability of a new toolset http://news.synopsys.com/2014-09-10-Synopsys-...cuits-PICs The descriptions fit rather well with what POET offers, even more so knowing that OCDMA is something that they've been working on http://optics.synopsys.com/rsoft/application-...ccess.html
