I know of your son's tragedy, but wasn't aware you weren't working.
I haven't worked for the last 2 years (by choice). I've been working on a computer science degree and reconnecting with family. I have also sold shares occasionally to pay tuition and other obligations, but I haven't flipped.
I'm about to start work with a consulting firm for a year or more, so I can finish paying for school and not have to sell any more shares in order to finish the degree. Plus I have a large tax bill from the sizable Roth conversion I did last year. Would rather work to pay the taxes and have to sell shares.
I'll stop responding to you unless it's to add something positive. Just give up the crazy notion that I'm emotional or insecure with my investment. I assure you that is the farthest thing from the truth. Anyone who can lose half a million dollars in value in a single day and not panic is pretty secure in their investment, in my mind.
