Here is a good story for you. There is a new stadium being built in Hamilton for the football team and the Pan-Am games. Unfortunately, there was an engineering miscalculation and lots of extra steel had to be constructed, increasing the costs and delaying the project. Seems as if the engineers miscalculated the required capacity of the stands, meaning that if the fans did a Wave, they could very well have fallen down. Here is the link:

Thing is, these are Professional Engineers at work. If they see a problem like that, all things come to a dead stop. They are not just going to do what the customer wants. It is getting built properly and will be fought out in a court of law as to who is paying for it.
Safety is of paramount concern, but I would say that Profitability takes a close second. Unless it is an Expense project, anytime it seems as if it might not be profitable, things come to a stop.
