picon, Canada, like most other western nations, operates federal agencies like they are an extension of the policitical party in power. HC states quite clearly on their website they only are making medical mj available due to a court ruling. If not for that court ruling, there would be no medical mj or MMPR in Canada. The fact that the Health Minister, or any other minister, serves at the pleasure of the party, and the party leader. They are not neutral whereas the three medical physicians groups are neutral and wish to remain so. The Health Minister is elected, those serving under the Health Minister are government employee's who do as their masters say.

I am not at all surprised. It is not Health Canada becoming invovled in political arena, but the political arena becoming involved in Health Canada.
