Tanis: From the link you supplied I wasn't able to find the percentage of Orphan IND's that ultimately got final approval to be commercialized by the FDA.
From memory I think Jason quoted it being around 40%, which is substantially better than 1 out of 10. (10%) Perhaps MANF has better odds than average because of it's lack of toxicity problems?
