vale built those 36 400k ton ships as if to handle all the extra worldwide demand of the time by itself - had to lease 1/3 of such i read somewhere and delay or stop 1/3
no port in world was deep enough for the 72-75 foot draft and had to load offshore in brazil -have to switch load to smaller ships in africa to proceed to china til new vale china port built
