Was hesitant to say this. Seems cynical. When I was Sr. Merchandiser with huge retail fashion company, the first thing I (and every other Merchandiser) would do, after glossing over the resume, is quickly read their FB entries.
Then when we hired, we knew exactly who we were getting thanks to esp. FB and other social media. And people wonder why they never get hired... wonder why some people are hesitant to give them a second chance. It's cruel, but these wounds are self-inflicted.
So just a word of wisdom to FITX folks, (not preaching, just saying what people in power do), 'Social Media' confessions and braggadocio and etc., in most cases do not help you, at least, financially/career wise. This (social media) is a phenomenon I just do not have words for: unless it's clean, knowledgeable, and considerate.
