That might be accurate.
I went to a local best buy magnolia center and their 4k tv's streamed 4k already they said. They said Sony and Samsung had lots of content. They were polite when I told them they didn't really have content or stream, and their tv's weren't compatible with others .
Got a strange look though. When I told them they were getting a set top box that actually would stream, they said they didn't know about it and kinda backed off and said if I had any more questions to let them know.
