Actually the banking and other financial and securities systems played a substantial part in it, but people ignore the role played in weakening the US innovation system as small developmental companies are continually "in play" by the shorters and bashers working on behalf of larger companies that do not want new and better products "messing up" their harvesting of profits from "old" products.
This strategy has exponentially exploded onto the scene with the Internet's communication capabilities and anonymity and it is severely hampering the growth of small innovative companies. I have seen quite a few companies with good ideas try to deal with this. I also think that NanoLogix's approach is intelligent based on a real understanding of how the system now works. The "old rules" of investment in many cases simply don't work anymore or they can even be counterproductive.
