Aircrews receive a stipend until operations start and salary begins. Many of the aircrew have already retired from their first careers - flying for Baltia is extra income for many.
Certainly the plane needed a tweak or two - the good news is that the plane is still at Willow Run, which means that any extra work is minimal as Kalitta's major facility is in Oscoda. I said it many times over the last few months that there WILL be tweaks necessary after the first flight. It's is completely normal. I expect word from HQ when the next milestones are accomplished. I don't expect word from HQ every time a wrench is turned or every time Igor takes a leak.
