Why we harvest underwater….
Underwater timber is the “Next Frontier” for eco-friendly wood harvesting. As illegal logging/deforestation is rapidly depleting the global resource base; underwater forestry is the primary alternative.
If you look at the projected amount of timber in our reservoirs globally, you see in excess of 300MM trees. These trees stand inundated in 50,000 large damns worldwide.
An estimated 10% of all timber cut from forests and transported by way of river, sank long ago. This sunken timber could equal billions of board feet in recoverable lumber.
As we stated, we are environmentalist at our core. Eco-friendly is Hollund friendly!
