I know why don't you go the investment bank he works for and share those thoughts with them in an email. Then you can find out the answer for yourself?
Or better still, call their Human Resources Department and ask them if they have an employee by that name or easier still just call the bank's switchboard, and ask for him by name. They will have a list of employees and their extensions. Even if they can't give you the extension, they can put you through to him, or his voice mail or his office - can't they?
Simple solutions to satisfy yourself if he's a real person or not. Please let us know what you find out and which option you chose.
