Coming up: U.S. retail sales, wholesale inflation
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - The U.S. government will release retail sales and wholesale prices for October at 8:30 Eastern. Retail sales likely fell 0.1% in October, largely because of hurricane Sandy, according to economists surveyed by MarketWatch. The storm shut down many stores on the East Coast last month and auto sales in particular appear to have suffered. Minus the auto sector, sales likely rose 0.3%. The producer price index, meanwhile, probably increased 0.2% last month, the MarketWatch survey projects. Wholesale prices in the U.S. have been relatively tame in 2012 outside a temporary spike in oil prices.
