Mutual funds mostly can't buy stocks that are less than 5. Hedge funds are going to wait for "confirmation" or maybe looked at the balance sheet, saw the debt, and are short. Who knows? This is going to be news driven.

Also remember that stocks under 3 don't count toward margin and that may be discouraging some individuals too.
