You are right…..it might be weird to send it privately….so here goes:
Someday……
When she walks into this office, my heart steps up its beat,
She always looks so pretty from her head down to her feet.
“Good morning, you look beautiful!” (Did I say that last part out loud?)
Quickly turn and do your paperwork – disappear into the crowd.
To her I am invisible – she hardly notices me,
But in an office filled with people she's the ONLY one I see.
Her perfume is uniquely hers, yet different every day,
I cannot enjoy breathing till it gently drifts my way.
Her eyes, they are like headlights, and I am like a deer
When she shines her eyes upon me I stand frozen as in fear.
She must drop that casual gaze - for I am helpless now
Oh thank God she slowly looked away…that was close…way too close…oh wow!
The littlest one, she senses it, and she barks, “Stay Away!”
She sees a Vampire approaching – she sees Vicky as its prey.
“Be still my sweet little Bella, for I swear upon my soul
Though my blood's as hot as lava, I'm completely in control.”
I dare not take her gentle hands and press them to my lips,
“Yes dad…..I did too notice…..she has amazing hips….”
But it’s not her external beauty; it’s her beauty deep inside.
It’s her laugh and charm and personality that make feelings hard to hide.
On holidays I dare not kiss her – no way! Uh, uh! Hell no!
I’m afraid I’ll grab ahold of her and never let her go.
I hum when she comes near me – it reminds me to breathe in
But if she stays by me too long, I might forget again.
I keep myself pre-occupied – Fix everything just right
But still I can’t keep her out of my mind, especially at night.
A treasure when you look at her, more fun to converse with,
A Princess in this modern day – no longer just a myth.
You may think I’m tormented and she’s my punishment,
But I’m happy just to know this girl – this girl who’s heaven sent.
“One hundred million lottery – the CASH is not the prize
It’s the chance to turn your life around and get lost within her eyes".
And with a laugh and then a crumple, she’ll probably toss both away,
My heart and this silly little poem…….but maybe, just maybe…..
……………………………….Someday……………………
Couple of notes: Bella was a Chihuahua that one of the employees used to bring to the office, and she stayed near Vicky, and barked at me every time I walked by.
Dad always notices pretty women and feels the need to point them out to me.
Oh – and I am very handy, My wife’s daughter thinks I can fix anything (and she may be right!).
