HLF: Herbalife Holders May Want to Recall 'Annie Hall' -- 7/29/14
In "Annie Hall," Alvy Singer compared a relationship to a shark: "It has to constantly move forward or it dies." That's something Herbalife (HLF) shareholders should keep in mind. They were shocked Monday when the company failed to extend its streak of quarterly EPS beats to 22. Though earnings still grew, the miss lopped 11% off its stock just days after its largest one-day gain. HLF skeptics may smell blood due to volume points. That measure of HLF's sales saw a slight decline in North America and a larger one in the rest of the hemisphere. Coupled with a slowdown in "active sales leaders," the numbers are telling.
