The certifications a very important and I'm sure AOAC assumes some liability by saying the machine is certified for different pathogens. Insurance rates will be effected by being able to certifiy products. Insurance companies will need to trust machines before they approve, I'm sure there are lots of I-s to dot and t-s to cross before this is completed. No wonder it takes so long.
