Exactly, the Bardot will always be at a disadvantage because it requires the full CFU (colony forming unit) to be present in order to identify it. The forward scatter id is based on the 3-D dimension of the colony as the bacteria grow on top of each other. Key word is grow; they will always need longer culture time. The MIT1000 does it faster and much cheaper. Haavig and MMTC got the jump on them so they couldnt use single microbes for identification. These two devices will be compared together at the Chicago meeting. Which one do you think will be received better? i'll give you one guess.
