The essence of irony.
The important point to keep in mind is that:
when the counter-party refuses to address the substantive issues presented, and responds with personal attacks (ad hominem means "against the person"
, this means that there is no logical counter to the substantive issues presented, and so the counter-party is reduced to belittling the person rather than logical countering their arguments.
And: The growing number of ad hominem attacks on this board indicates frustration, anxiety, ANGST, anger, perhaps worse .. on the part of the "longs".
Pathetic, IMHO
