FYI regarding Vanguard brokerage!
I just called Vanguard and I was told from a representative that you shares are available to be lent and shorted from their brokerage acct. It is part of the agreement when you sign up. I asked if I can prevent them from being lent out and was told that I cannot. Fortunately, I have most of my shares locked up in my Roth IRA which cannot be lent for shorting!
