Were they trying to compete with some of the earth moving machines by R.A. Hanson Co etc? -earth moving machines as much as 1-3 miles long. I once asked an electrician who worked for said co what kind of engines they used to power such and he said it was mostly just a matter of hydraulics.
What we need is a bulldozer negotiator to bulldoze buyers to get contracts moving-maybe they have contracts for next ship but we havent heard yet. As bingo had said Chinese steelmakers excess inventories were expected to be depleted by October and thus result in a resumption of buying.
I've seen contradictory articles re Chinese steelmaker buying -with most saying they just werent buying in August /Sept-which makes sense as per price fall-but one article said they were loading up on the cheap prices -which doesnt make as much sense -since price would rise w increased demand and best sources indicated no demand in August and much of Sept after an unexpected increase in supply combined w a Chinese slowdown from 10-12 % growth of 3 previous years slowed economy to a 7.5% growth-a problem other countries would kill for.
