Thank you Beliceno. My son's name was Greg, and he was my only child. Children are a blessing, to see yourself in someone else is a gift, my gift was taken from me at only 29 years of age, he was not married, and had no children. Nothing shakes your beliefs more than losing a child, I was lost for a while after Greg was killed, it is undoubtedly the most difficult thing I have ever faced in my life. My son did three tours in Iraq, and one in Afghanistan. I was there for each deployment, and each return, except the last one, which haunts me to this very moment typing it. Before he left he would always say "I'll be right back, Dad", and when he came back he would say "I bet you didn't even know I was gone that was so quick!" haha, very good memories. I can't wait to see him and tell him that this time it was too long.
