My guess is the minimum tax rate (aka Buffett Rule) was the reason for the no votes.

I actually qualify as someone "crushed by student debt" being that I owe 6 times the national average. Unfortunately, this bill would not help me anymore than consolidating would.

Loan forgiveness would work for me, however, I believe students need to be better informed before taking on student loans when entering college. Plus, it would also help if the damn education cost less!
