Panasonic reveals its Ultra HD TV is not compatible with Netflix 4K
Nanotech Entertainment " Sounds like a good thing for NanoTech to me. The Panasonic Smart TV is using the new HEVC/.265 decoder and they couldn't figure out how to configure it correctly with Netflix.
"Apparently, there’s something about the AX800 range’s HEVC decoder chip configuration that means it doesn’t play nicely with Netflix 4K content." Sounds like a Panasonic Netflix problem.
Looks like HEVC has quite a way to go before it's "mainstream" (just as we anticipated). We have mastered streaming 4K with .264 and when the HEVC codec is ready we will send out an update. But for now, looks like .264 is still going to be around for a while and we are looking good!"
