Sounds like you were in Pretty good shape Junebug. Running and then Biking that long of a distance. Running a Marathon is a whole different experience. I commend your daughter and her husband going the whole distance on the Appalachian Trail. That is some feat. I was hoping to do that years ago. But that is a real commitment and I never did. Gardening is a passion of mine like running, I need to do it. I really enjoy it.
Thank you JB but I never did join any services. In the early seventies there was a lottery system for drafting for the Vietnam War. They went by your birthday. My birthday is June 24th and my draft # was 356 out of 365 I was attending Northern Virginia Community College at that time. That high of a number assured me of not going into the service. I then withdrew from College took some time off, worked, visited the west and after 2 years went back to Community College with more focus and interest, transferred to George Washington University and Graduated in 1975 with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree in Finance.
