Deutsche Telekom said that it increased its European IPTV, satellite and cable TV customer numbers by 19.8% in the first quarter of the year.
In total, the operator counted 3.56 million TV customers, up by 589,000 compared to the same quarter a year earlier.
Quarter-over-quarter TV customer numbers grew by 1.6% from 3.50 million for the three months ending December 31.
In Germany alone, Deutsche Telekom’s biggest market, the firm said it served 2.26 million TV customers, up 10.8% from 2.04 million in Q1 2013. In Germany Deutsche Telekom offers IPTV and satellite services.
Overall, Deutsche Telekom said that its net revenue for the quarter increased 8% year-on-year to €14.9 billion. EBITDA climbed 38.2% compared to last year, while net profit came in at €1.82 billion.
