Yes, logically, the same no should be bought and sold over a reasonable time frame. However, the only way this can happen is for the market makers to buy shares from those selling and offer them to someone who is buying, at a higher price of course so that the MMs make their money. They don't have to immediately offer the shares they have bought back to the market, they are effectively hidden from it until they decide to offer them to it at some later time.
