As one factor, the OTC market is feeling a lot of heat from the new team running the SEC. Mary Jo White (Chair) and Andrew Ceresney (Enforcement) have launched serious initiatives to root out violators of the public trust operating within the sphere of the OTC microcap market.

Congress is also adding heat by demanding the SEC do more to protect the investors in public markets from "shysters," a term used by a congressman during an energetic congressional hearing on Tuesday while interrogating Chair Mary Jo White.

For the first time in years, the OTC microcap market have gotten the message that this time the regulators aren't fooling around. The message has struck fear in questionable SEC reporters and non-reporters alike.
