I totally agree with you. I actually replied to one of Beliceno's post earlier about this and accidentally hit "Reply Private" but here were my thoughts:
"If I were Alana Husby I would want HIMR to be successful as IMO it could only help CET (Coast Eco Timber). Think about this, CET & HIMR are not in competition for the same "water" there on Bayano. They have their own separate defined waters to log. With CET having a 15 years lease, yes maybe down the road some on the water that HIMR is on might have been Alana's but she seems like a pretty smart business person who is a "big picture" thinker. With that said, I think having HIMR as some friendly competition is good for CET and the industry as a whole. I am sure that Alana is likely looking for her own Tigerlynk or some way to extract logs at a quicker pace as CET uses the diver based method. I am sure she is very well aware of Tigerlynk and has done the math on increased production. Who knows maybe she has her eye on a future partnership, buyout, or even acquiring licensing rights to Tigerlynk, IDK. However, I believe that as both companies aggressively seek out new concessions, it would be good for them to have both been successful as it looks better on a "resume" to present to future governments and decision makers. With all the tens of billions of dollars of submerged wood out there and the benefits of generating news, PR and a solid track record of this new, emerging industry.....some competition will only open more doors (more quickly) and create a healthy competition which will help keep HIMR on their toes and help keep our money making more money. Again, just my opinion. HIMR long!"
