I have never called, doubt I ever will.
For those who have met any of the principals, BOD members and the like, I can see why an occasional call might be a good idea to keep in touch with a little personal flare, but what else is gained?
From my experience with another company, knowing the CEO and others, nothing that is non public will be shared, so it is rare that I call even to just say, "how are you and family?"
