*R,
Astute observations, and yes, there are key differences.
Properly run dispensaries are a fortress. Entrances are often surrounded by dominating steel cages including multiple proxy entrances for added security. This is accompanied by one or more security guards at all times. This also often includes multiple camera systems, and in the case or busier dispensaries, 15 or more cameras and a live operator. I have seen dispensaries where the operators of said camera systems are well seasoned ex-police and enforcement officers. This adds sizable overhead and expenses.
Cannabis farms should also include a large measure of security. Not all do. Theft, robbery, and in some cases deaths, surround a long list of lore and extremely tragic occurrences resultant from these high risk endeavors. This has often meant the end of business and deep unrecoverable debts to many would-be cannabis entrepreneurs.
And yes, despite our best efforts, members of our staff have been both threatened and assaulted to the degree of requiring hospital care.
The landscape is improving, but, it is still evolving. There is still risk involved in operating a cannabis company. However, we do not choose to have our staff operate in a fortress. We do not choose to have our staff under the "big brother" focus of multiple security cameras. Our work environment and work culture is key to who we are as company. If this culture does not match your desires in how you would desire the company operate, that is not something I can help you with. Our policies are in place for sound and experiential reasonings.
Warm Regards,
Angel Stanz, CEO
