Another look at Business Evaluation:
There are 5 common ways to value a business from an accounting perspective . Google business valuations and you will find plenty of reading material. Here is one hit that the search came up with: http://www.forbes.com/2009/09/23/small-busine...lling.html
There are many variations to each method, so do your own research and DD. This is in no way a formal evaluation and I do own stock in fitx..that being said:
Lets take the Income valuation method (assuming bill is correct in building a farm that can produce 1.2mil pounds a year).
To make the numbers nice and round lets assume the farm runs at 83% capacity which will yield 1mil pounds. Often times a multiplier is also used. We will use a multiplier of 1, 3 , and 5 (3 different scenarios)
1,000,000 pounds
16oz in a lb
28 grams in an oz
16 X 28 = 448 grams in a lb
448 g X $5 gr = $2240 per lb (estimates of selling price range from $5-$10 per gram)
1,000,000 lb X $2240 = $2,240,000,000 ($2.24 billion dollars)
$2.24 billion divided by 3.4 billion shares = $0.65 per share
2.24 bil X 3 (multiplier) divided by 3.4 billion shares = $1.97 per share
2.24 bil X 5 (multiplier) divided by 3.4 bil shares = $3.29 per share
Again, this is not a formal evaluation and is only being posted to give people a starting point for their own evaluation. There are many factors i did not take into acount. Do not buy or sell stock based on this evaluation. I am not a financial advisor. You should contact a Certified Financial Planner for your investing questions.
Please fell free to comment and make changes for factors not addressed.
