Just a hypothetical scenario:

Is is appropriate or ethical for a newspaper journalist to post an article which has half truths and other questions which may be false regarding a new business which will benefit their community? If this individual were posting alias messages on a anonymous message board to manipulate the stock of said company, would this be a conflict of interest or just illegal?

Again: This is only a hypothetical scenario..

I do not have any person special in mind.. I was just wondering is this could ever would happen on these boards??
