Yes, seriously did like it, but not straight. Too strong for both of us as a straight shot (and no taste, so really no reason to drink it that way except to get trashed fast).

Combined with a mixer it was extremely smooth and did not alter the taste of the mixer in any way.

If you like mixed drinks with Vodka, and you like to be different and classy, I can certainly see asking for Marani Vodka when you place your order. I'm guessing that just the name "Marani" could spark up some interesting conversations.
