The purpose of the registered agent is to have someone to accept legal process on behalf of the corporation, e.g. if someone sues the corporation, subpoenas records, etc. A corporation can be a registered agent. There are corporations whose sole business is to act as a registered agent. John Burke accepted (by electronic signature) the designation of  MI Financial Services, Inc. as the registered agent for Alternative Energy Partners, Inc.  Apparently, he thinks he is the president of MI Financial Services, Inc.
