Near the very bottom of your post you mention "emotions"
Eliminate the emotions and invest becomes much easier. (also easier said than done)
On red ugly days walk away from the computer. Go outside for a walk. Toss the ball or stick for your dog to chase. Have some fun and don't look at the stock chart.
On green days it's difficult not to watch. The emotions run high. Perhaps it's getting close to the time for me to bury my head in the sand and pull it out in 2 years and then feel much better (or worse depending on the glasses I'm wearing lol)
