I was thinking of that also on my way home from work  If everyone put a sell order out there for 1.00 or higher would that lock up the shares so they couldn't be sold short?  Can offshore accounts still sell short a stock tied up this way?  Also if they shorted it before it was put up for sale what happens when these shares are then tied up, do the shorters have to look other places to borrow them?
