Just arrived on the MJ/MMJ market scene, but with the CO/WA votes of late I'm seeing a rapid de-escalation by local/state governments towards decriminalization of possession of MJ, downgrading from felony offenses to civil "fines" (at least for minimum amounts; say under 5 ounces). Why? Uncle Guvvy can no longer afford to imprison these people.....follow the money!
So what to do? Step 1 - fine the offender (think of it as when guvs implemented "seat belt fines".
Chicago, which has massive debts looming has recently begun a move in the MJ civil fine arena (they are out of room to house prisoners).
What next? Many more entities, as you know, are ramping up the MMJ approvals at state levels; then comes full recreational usage approvals, and now Holder, etal, and rattling the sabres about rescheduling.....follow the money!!!
My belief is that the fact that since all government bodies are teetering on the brink of financial collapse they will continue to move at a quicker pace to fill their coffers (of course, it will do little good if they don't curtail spending) with new revenue sources.
The big new "revenue source" du jour for 2014/2016 looks to be both MJ & MMJ, and hemp, etal.
Indeed, FITX may well be the pot at the end of the rainbow for all early adopters. (yes, that was intended!!!)
