I think of this as a safe place to park my money.  For example, in case of a market collapse or crash (which I expect) I won't have to meet a margin call, or be wiped out.  Since this is cash and as they say cash is king.  Yes, it might drop, but I can still hold on until there's a turn around.

I say this because I've been thru a few crashes.
