To expound a bit: Last R/S I went through was completely different- CEO held a conference call THAT AFTERNOON and explained his reasoning for having to do it, why he did it, and the struggle he had with making the decision. Also, he made himself and IR available to "walk anyone through the process" so they knew what to expect with the split, and post-split. 

Being handled so much differently, that play experienced a 400% gain since the split. Being "in the know" makes a ton of difference with these things......in my humble opinion.
