We did have teachers in HS who taught us to think critically, independently, and morally. By the time my kids were in school, teaching was more like social/liberal indoctrination. I could hardly believe the crap the education system was pushing. I'm sure it's much worse now.

The teachers union in my area pushed heavily for paid Viagra in their last contract negotiations. The cost would have been 1 million dollars. It was an important issue to them. It's one example of how the honorable profession of teaching has been perverted over the years. We don't need 100,000 more teachers. We need 100,000 more good teachers from the present number. Just replace the dirt bags, and rein in some of the union nonsense. Of course it would help to have parents who actually raise their kids, and a government that supports, and doesn't interfere with, a parent's ability to do that. Also, a government that defines itself by limits and not how it can expand.
